About Heather

Heather Heather Maclean is an award-winning author/editor, master of many genres, former reality TV star, and pop culture expert. Of her published 17 books, 4 have appeared on The New York Times bestseller list.

Heather graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Literature and the department's Emily Ebert prize in independent writing. While there, she was the Publisher of Business Today, the largest student-run publication in the world founded by Steve Forbes, where she was the boss of Lachlan Murdoch [cue Succession theme song].

She began her career at Entertainment Weekly in Times Square back when it was seedy enough to be the inspiration for the movie Seven. She then moved to LA to work for The Walt Disney Company where she launched several of the company’s first, award-winning websites. A "Spirit of Disney" award winner, she holds the distinction of being the first person to ever answer Mickey Mouse's email (since his fingers were too big to type).

Heather's work has appeared in Condé Nast Traveler, Pregnancy magazine, NY Metro Parents magazine, as well as newspapers around the country. She's written weekly blogs for People.com and Bravotv.com, has been featured in InStyle and Vanity Fair magazine, and has appeared several times on Good Morning America, the CBS Early Show, Fox Business Network, ParentsTV and Sirius' "Dr. Radio." While too flawed for politics, she is proud to have a speech in the Congressional Record.

When not castle hunting with her Scottish husband, cheering on her daughter on Wall Street, her daughter in Hollywood, or her son at Bama (Roll Tide!), Heather can be found hunched over her laptop in the woods of Michigan.
